Smelted my cobbled deepslate... Now what?

So I just assumed deepslate worked like stone and I would need to smelt the blocks in order to get a nice clean look and make brick blocks, turns out you do all your crafting with the cobbled deepslate (I'm a moron). Now I have hundreds of deepslate blocks I can't craft into brick deepslate.... Any way to turn it back to cobbled without placing and rebreaking hundreds of blocks?
