How to acquire small seed money?

Question

I appreciate anything anyone has to offer ~

I've found a small business to start. It's a sellers market, there's a strong intangible demand for it, and there's a lack of quality businesses in the sector.

So, the first question is, how do I acquire seed money? We're talking next to nothing: for all the initial expenses and a safe buffer, $20,000. I could almost put it on credit cards.

I'm no where near a candidate for any sort of loan or credit. I've struggled with mental illness, which is slowly getting better (and I don't plan to start the company until it's resolved), I have zero verifiable work experience or credit history, and no education.

I can be trusted, though, and I would be good at this. I do know and see that, and I have confidence in it. I realize the uphill challenge of convincing a bank or an individual that they can trust me with their investment, and I... also realize I may just be laughed out of the whole institution.

I've considered saving up the money, and that may be the way to go. Personal loans, perhaps, I don't think a small business loan is appropriate, and maybe business credit cards, if the numbers were any where close to matching up.

Does anyone see any of these panning out? Are there other options I haven't considered?

Any advice?
