L-Clusterfuck

I was wanting to hold off on opening the L-Cluster as I wasn't at all prepared for the fight, unfortunately, a robotic empire was gunning for it and I thankfully managed to open it first to prevent them from coming at me immediately. Sadly, my L-Gate system wasn't prepared in time and now gets attacked too frequently to try building up again, thankfully its chokepoint is also the chokepoint to my capital and is the most defended location, and has been able to successfully repel several attacks.

My fleet is only a fraction of what I need in order to begin to invade the L-Cluster, the robotic empire is superior to me and I managed to ingratiate myself to them and get them as an associate to my federation. Unfortunately, the Grey Tempest is cutting swathes thru the galaxy in every location but the ones that I would desire, leaving the superior robotic empire to thrive aside from occasional incursions into their L-Gate system itself as well. The robotic empire seems to have no interest in attempting to take the battle to the Grey Tempest.

I have thankfully for some reason, despite my ethics and practices being unpopular, received nearly unanimous support in initiating my emergency measure to appoint myself as Galactic Custodian. I'm not certain if I'll be able to leverage a permanent position before taking out the Grey Tempest, which may lead to this being a temporary appointment with the number of otherwise hostile empires. I'm hoping that I will be able to leverage the creation of the GDF to be able to quickly and cheaply rally the forces I'll need to storm the Grey Tempest, and hopefully, a few other galactic threats before my term runs out.
