In the common app, does school break mean after the year or before the year?

Like if I'm going to be a senior in 2021-2022 and I'm doing an activity this summer, would I put it as 11th grade school break or 12th grade school break? I really wish they would let us put specific months; I feel like I'm overexaggerating so many activities because I started them mid-end of school year but it looks like I did them all year on the thing.
