New game mode for OSRS
As an avid fan of the Runescape game. I am truly saddened to see the downhill of the game yet again. The game is brilliant and awesome in its own ways. The quote "you never really quit RuneScape". Is the exact definition of the game. Even if im not playing for years, I always suddenly somehow end up playing it again.
The release of OSRS was the best thing ever. And it marked a new era of people playing the game in a different way. It has marked an era where numerous achievements have been achieved, that back in the days would have granted you an godlike status. The game was on a good roll with lots of great features and updates. However we've reached a time where passive gaming isn't doing it anymore. To be part of a bigger audience one has got to make it more competitive. With that I mean truly Esports competitive. A game where clans turn into actual teams. Where regular players become Esports players. Where being a professional RuneScape player is a profession. Instead of making a name only as a content creator for example. People want to be challenged. It shouldn't be no lifeing the game for 15 hours a day, becoming a high level and then playing endgame. Sorry that just doesn't do it anymore.
I have come up with a concept idea for an actual mode. Something strategical, competitive, skill based but also passive. A mode where there is no room for clanmanmode, but infact relies on teamwork and bonding. Focusing on the socializing aspect, but with features to be able to distinguish yourself.
In no way am I implying to quit interactions with the actual game. However I truly think with the input of some of the most remarkable players we could truly figure this gamemode or even something totally different out. Lots of people in the community are willing to help the game we all love the most.
The problem in this all is that the game doesn't attract new players as much.
Most of the players that play are oldschool players that have a nostalgic feeling about the game. Thats mainly what keeps this game alive, however as we grow older we get lesser time to grind out and play.
How about a mode or a tournament or whatever you wanna call it. That brings all the aspects of the game together. I have come up with an idea. Imagine you link 4 people in a new map. Where there are 5 to 6 other groups of 4 people
or maybe even more. Everywhere is PvP so you have to be careful. You can't trade other players besides the players from your group. Instead of having save banks. You can build a guild where you have your own safespot. Through out this map, you can affiliate.
With numerous 'gangs' (goblins, elves, demons idk). You can build little safespots in their respective areas. So in basic words a game mode where everyone is an ironman, doing group ironman in a deadman world.
To bring out every aspect of the game. Skilling will be as important as PvP and PvM. If a player dies they wont lose all their stuff. Because that would mean clans could farm other teammates kills in other groups. So if you kill a player, you will get bloodmoney
with this you can buy numerous items and supplies. Every player has a exp cap for the first 10 hours. So that way you will have to choose what role you will take in the group. Will you train your combat stats so you can protect yourself and your teammates,
or will you be the skiller so you can supply your team, help build a guild or gear. So you will have to choose carefully. Having said that, each team can only have 2 magical scrolls. This means that for instance if im good at Hybrid Pking. ill take the magical scroll to get ancient magic. So I can protect myself and my teammates. If someone in our team wants to tank and have more benefits with skilling. He can use the other scroll for a lunar magic scroll. Thus also giving him certain benefits skilling wise and miscellaneous.
Because thats what lunar magic provides. So that way teams will be forced to make use of what the game offers.
Throughout this adventure besides fighting players there will be numerous bosses. Some of thes bosses will be skill monsters that would require a total level in a certain skill. For instance a ‘Crafting Boss’ pops up. To be able to kill him and get certain crafting supplies. It will require 180 level combined in crafting totally as a group. So for example lets say player 1 has level 80 crafting, player 2 has level 50 crafting and the other two players have a combined level of 50. Then they will be able to kill the boss much faster.
Everything you do, you do as a group. So even certain requirements for quests will ask for a combined level instead of a solo level. This will force players to also skill in certain ways.
