No more brunch mimosas?!
I have dealt with anxiety/panic attacks all my life. I have not driven by myself for the last 7 years or so and get panic attacks almost everytime I ride in the car on a highway. I work from home owning my business with my husband and we are just always together. However, always HAVING to be together is not healthy I know and also not fair to him. I'm 33 and we have been married almost 6 years. I essentially just fight through this everyday with ativan in my back pocket but I never take them.
I finally talked to my Dr. about SSRI's thinking that'll be my only solution to get on the road to a more normal life. However, the things I look forward to that I miss out on now are girls nights, brunch, trips, all-inclusive vacations, etc....if taking SSRI's (he prescribed Lexapro) I'm told you can't drink alcohol. Bummer....I understand there's more to life than drinking, but I also still wanna do the things that I enjoy! If I start taking these meds, which my dr essentially said I would probably need long term, would I never be able to have poolside drinks, beer at the ballgame, wine with my girlfriends? Is it worth it?
I guess I'm just looking for some insight, and hope that I can have the best of both worlds somehow. Any experience or advice would be much appreciated!
