Questions regarding Fusion's Hard Mode

Hello everyone,

I did just beat the Hard Mode of Metroid Fusion. Since it is only available in the Japanese version of Fusion, I decided to play this version with a translation patch. I collected all items (according to the map) and completed the game within 2:39h, yet I still got the Normal Mode 2h-4h ending with 45% item collection.

My first guess would be, that it says I only collected 45% because of the Hard Mode's effect of cutting the items effects in halve. The other idea is, that the translation patch messes things up. Are either of my two assumptions correct or is there something else going?

Futhermore I would like to know, if the Hard Mode has any unique ending screen. However, I am aware a special picture in the gallery can be unlocked by beating Hard Mode under 2h with 100% item collection (which then must be the 45%, I guess?). Still I feel there must be more to the endings and Hard Mode.

I feel like the situation is actually pretty clear, but I am still kind of confused. I hope someone can enlighten me.
