I want to use xmp but I think I need to update my bios (2 part question)
I’m looking to turn xmp on in my bios for better performance. It seems like when I turn it on my computer fails to boot if I go from 2133 to 3200 but I think I should be able to.
I ran windows memory diagnostics tool and no problems were detected, so I don’t think it’s bad ram.
Am I barking up the wrong tree thinking I should update my bios?
If that is the next step - my motherboard is Asrock x370 k4. I looked on the support section of their website to download the bios update and there are many different versions to choose from, and a few of them say to update to a prior version before updating further.

I’m assuming I should do this, but a lot of places I read where you don’t need to.
If I’m following the Asrock website it would be me going to 3.5 to 5.10 to 5.40
I have just enough knowledge to be dangerous here, any help is appreciated.
