Old laptop new user
I have taken possession of an ex employees laptop. He was fired for drug use and I have been promoted replacing him. I got the phone, laptop, truck, machine etc.
Now my issue comes in after setting up the laptop. It looks like it was factory reset, because I had to do all the new stuff again. Install apps and accounts etc. I noticed that it still had his name under the admin account but with all my credentials. I finally figured out how to change the name but then I see "this account is password protected"
So what if anything can I do, if the ex employee wants to be a dick or just doesnt remeber the password? There maybe an installation disk available, idk havent talked to the boss about it yet. There isnt a password reset disk that I know of and I'm the type I want information ahead of time to solve my problems.
Can I make a new admin account and just not worry about his old one? (Which has sense been switched over with all my info, including all my Microsoft account details). Am I going to be screwed when the time comes to input a password and end up having major problems when I need the laptop on job site? Thanks in advance for any help. And I hope someone out there will be able to help me so I dont have to wait on the boss lady to get me what I may need to fix this. Shes very slow and drives long distance from home to the job sites. I need use of laptop asap when I need it. And dont need a snag trying to do my work because of the ex employees problems. Thanks
