My childhood house is...occupied.

Home on vacation visiting my dad. My childhood home has always been creepy at certain times. When you're home alone at any time or when the sun goes down and you're the last one up. That's when it gets weird.

Our house is old, early 80's I think, but not that old. We're only the second family to ever live there and as far as I know no one died there. Ever since I was a kid the house has been creepy, the yard space too. As a kid I always had this feeling of being watched to the point I stopped going outside. The problem is that when home alone or up late at night by yourself you start to feel like you're being watched inside too.

No one else in my family has had this problem though my sister has seen a number of things inside and everyone has seen something outside including an old family friend.

So every time I come home I'm up late and my dads in bed asleep. I'm playing video games or watching hulu and sooner or later this creeping feeling of eyes on me starts to bug the hell out of me. Occasionally I'll see something out of the corner of my eye. Whenever I put in headphones though, that's when it gets unbearable.

The moment you have even one earbud in it increases dramatically. Last night I had one in and was watching tv and I saw something out of my peripheral vision, pulled the bud out and looked around then put it back in. Sat there and waited. Sure enough not 5 minutes later a figure leans out of my room and looks at me.

That's how it always is. A white figure peaks around the corner of my door and looks into the living room. The feeling of being watched is so intense that before I ever moved out I rearranged the furniture so that I could always see the hall while on the couch.

Over the years I have...

Heard clapping while home alone.

Heard singing while home alone.

Heard music when none was being played.

Heard scratching at the front door at night.

Heard scratching on my window screen at night.

Felt something in my bed twice.

Heard a sort of muted voice.

Had strange nightmares about creatures.

Seen a black creature open my door at night.

Seen a white creature all over the house too many times to count.

Heard shuffling in the basement at night while alone and the cat was upstairs.

Seen something between the fridge and the wall.

Felt a presence all over the house. (Mostly the hallway)

Seen something outside multiple times at night.

Had my phone act up outside at night after feeling like I was being followed.

Had the house get darker while the lights were bright as ever.

And that's just what I can remember.

And I've always hated this one tree across the road from my window. It's like it has a presence after dark that has always bugged me.

As I said, others -in and out- of my family have seen things so I know I'm not crazy. To add to my credibility I have also seen a therapist and been given a clean bill of mental health.

I also don't have any trouble anywhere outside of my childhood town. Sightings and weirdness are significantly reduced and I can move around at night peacefully in most places.
