Dumb question

I just got the x after playing the one for years. Is there a graphics difference if you use the same monitor or will it look the same until I upgrade to a 4k monitor? I’ve been playing mlb and avengers-both being somewhat recently released games- but if it’s going to be the same graphics as the one, I’ll just wait to unpack it till I get a 4k
