Is this guy just talking to me out of boredom?

So I matched with someone on a dating app maybe 2 years ago and we msged after that on IG. Never met in person, he initially wanted to meet up but I was just hesitant. To this day, he replies to my stories and compliments my photos. He msged me yesterday saying he wished he met up with me b4 moving to OR. He sent me a message back in 2020 & told me he was moving but I usually don’t reply/keep the conversation going. He’s not stalkerish and I don’t mind him msging me, I just don’t get why he’s still msging considering how disinterested I seem.
