Turo collecting from both sides

I rented out my car and after the first day, the car was broken into and a windshield and passenger window was smashed. I went to pick up the car and they were extremely combative and aggressive, refusing to give me back the key unless I waived all of their liability. Needless to say, we couldn't work out an agreement for damages outside of the protections/insurance. After 2.5 hours, I had to get the police involved to get my key back.

I got the windows fixed for about $800, less than the protection amounts on both mine and the renter's Turo policies. However, Turo collected by charging it to the renter but will not reimburse me for the damages because my costs are based on "my protection plan".

So the renter pays for damages to Turo, I paid the repair company, and Turo keeps the $800.

For anyone else that's had damages to their car, does this sound right?
