What fabrics don’t hold onto scent?

Hi everyone, I’m having trouble lately with clothes holding onto smells (namely in the armpits). I can wash the clothes, get into them totally showered and clean, but the second I start sweating the material starts... leeching smell? Sort of a musty, old sweat smell. I imagine it’s the material of the clothes, specifically more plastic-y fabrics. How can I avoid this and what fabrics can I buy that won’t do this? It used to be a sometimes issue, but more and more of my clothes seems to have this fun feature.
