EAD Expedite: How to take Congressman route?

Hi!

I've heard tons about contacting your local Congressman to assist with expediting the EAD. However, I am very unclear on the process. These may be dumb q's but specifically:

1. What do I call and say?
2. What should my "letter of severe personal financial loss" look like? OR If my employer is willing to write one, what do I ask of them/what template to give them?
3. How do I show loss of job? I have an offer letter from when I started but no "termination letter" per se. Similarly, I can show I have finances, how do you show the lack thereof?

Are there links/templates you guys have used that worked? Is there anything else I should be prepared with when I call my congressman?
