You dont have enough background info to know ANYTHING and you are clenching your pearls SO HARD!!

You sound like parents saying "DONT SIT TOO CLOSE TO THE TV! IT WILL RUIN YOUR EYE SIGHT!!!"

protip: after +50years there is no evidence sitting close to the tv does any damage fyi

WHY WONT ANYONE THINK OF THE CHILDREN!!!!

ridiculous.

Also the video was pretty cute, she stole the headset out of child curiosity, it wasnt like the dad was forcing it on her, douche.

As a father of a five year and a two year old, I do somewhat agree. I'd never let them use a VR headset for a longer period of time.

When I am showcasing VR to visitors though, and they want to take a peak, I do let them watch some fish in "The Blue" for a few moments. I doubt that a combined exposure of less than five minutes over years will have a negative effect on their eyesight.

Not on their eyesight, but when they think they're fish, that's on you ;>

Wait... Are children not supposed to live in a tank?

It needs to be freshwater tank. Not saltwater.

I think people are being overly paranoid. There is no reason to believe limited exposure will harm them in any way and there actually is some evidence that it can help children with amblyopia.
