Moving from AW34DW to a 49" - G9? CRG9? Wait? Other options?

I recently got lucky enough to secure a new EVGA 3080TI as an upgrade to my 1080TI. I currently have an AW34DW which I absolutely love - I'll never be able to go back to a normal monitor for my main workstation.

Considering a re-vamp of my setup and have been looking at moving to a 49" superultrawide. I've seen a lot of talk about an upcoming release of Neo... is it worth waiting? Is there any info about how significant the 2021 Neo upgrade over a G9 would be?

I'm still on the fence about an R1000 curve as I really like the R1800 on my alienware.
