If a room is on fire and none of connnected rooms have dwellers, you can just wait until it ends. Storage rooms and Living Quarters don't need dwellers, so I put all or most at the buttom.

Number #8 from POST

Fallout Shelter Facts your mommy didn’t tell you:

  1. Elevators do not consume power.
  2. Rooms that are not upgraded have really easy events.
  3. Internal events cannot start from or spread to the Vault entrance room.
  4. Deathclaws start appearing at 61 dwellers, and rad scorpions at 51 dwellers.
  5. Vengeance is the best weapon for quests, use dragon’s maw for everything else: THREAD
  6. Do not Max out all stats for best legendary junk hunters - Max only ECL and try for 1 on the rest: THREAD
  7. Damage and dweller HP are the only variables for in-vault combat - AKA outfits and SPECIAL stats give no benefit to vault guards: THREAD
  8. Rooms that are not touching (honeycomb) don’t spread events and will “die out” on their own (rad scorpions being the exception).
  9. Higher Endurance before leveling up your dweller has an impact on their final max health points (higher the better).
  10. For max endurance dwellers, you must still equip a +1 (or more) Endurance outfit to be able to survive the wasteland (anti-bug).
  11. Dwellers on coffee breaks can’t take damage from incidents or attackers (similar to pregnant dwellers and children).
  12. Avoid upgrading the vault entrance, it adds to the time your vault loses resources during an attack (while suspending vault mechanics).
  13. You can boost your dweller count, then evict the ones you don’t need in order to continue to build unlocked rooms. To upgrade a fresh craft room, dweller count must be active.
  14. Wasteland explorers will usually return with enough stem packs to support his/her next exploration, so send them back out before you let another in from the line.

for number 6 why do you need charisma for explorers? also everyone who's not an explorer should have 2 max states, luck and whatever their room uses

and for 14 if your explorers return with enough stimpacks that means they weren't out long enough

Number 6 should include a link to your first question about ECL and why C matters. I agree with your comment about in vault dwellers needing max stats for their room + luck, however, luck only helps if you want more caps (most of us end gamers have no use). I can add this to the list if you would like :P

As for your response to number 14, that is not correct, if you have a max stat dweller with a +17E leveled HP base and decent outfit and decent pet, he will return with all the stimpacks needed for another journey. Even my ECL maxed dweller always returns with plenty m, hes gone for multiple days on end.

However, I do not play hardcore / survival (cant on my version of the game). Being gone longer means that you have a dweller that is not collecting as many items (it gets complicated which is why i included link). The goal is to stay out longer for better items, I will upload screenshot showing current explorer times.

I don't see the link for why dwellers are returning with stimpacks doesn't indicate they need to be out longer

Dwellers are returning with stimpaks because they can't physically be out longer. Explorers can only carry 100 items (this doesn't change, and isn't based on strength) before they say they've found everything they can carry, and they automatically return. Items that don't take storage space in the vault (recipes, lunchboxes, pet carriers, etc.) don't count to the limit. There's no way to tell them to drop anything or keep exploring, so naturally with very powerful explorers they're going to return with a bunch of stimpaks.

Me neither, maybe you can elaborate how they relate.

Edit this was more of a sarcastic questioning on my part, baiting the user I quoted to respond with how he assumes stimpacks = not out long enough - knowing he would get to the same conclusion as the response below from someone else - there is no correlation, if a dweller returns with (insert any amount) stimpacks - he or she could have been out for any amount of time 👍
