Has anyone else had a case of imposter syndrome, and is it ok?
I make a post similar to this about once a year, but I feel every year I’m making progress.
Tldr; best friend who I played KH1 with died when we were kids (same year game released), and while I’m over it, KH has occupied a complicated spot in my heart. Am I not a true fan because the story is still confusing, and that I didn’t play KHUx, and recent titles like Melody or beat the RE:MIND DLC extra shit?
I think I just need to unpac.. I guess I’m looking for validation, But bare with me. My brain splatter of text will be all over the place. It’s approaching the what would be the birthday of my dearly beloved best friend who died when we were children, so I’m getting a little soft and confused.
KH is all about friendships and the binds we make, how we’re all connected. I don’t feel connected in the slightest, as out of anyone important in my life, I’m the only one to ever take the KH journey. I feel more alone than ever.
KH1 is my favorite franchise by far, next to the .Hack series, yet I’m not fully caught up with the most recent lore bits of the story. I played KHUx for years and fell off before I started to spend $300 a week to stay relevant. I never played dark road, but I got pretty far with ux. I put it down 2 years ago when EX medals came out, so I suppose that was around the part of the story where the second war was about to begin, and we see Ven appear at the key blade graveyard and the public was all like (??? The fuck??)
I felt like I was stumbling around KH3 as well. I felt like I didn’t quite understand the ending or the impactfulness either. I beat the DLC but never the extra data bosses or the Yozora fight.
What Im getting at is, there’s a lot of important stuff floating around, and after nearly 2 decades, I’m getting fatigued. Am I even a real fan if I’m not level 1 running and super knowledgeable about the heavier part of the plots? When did everything turn into a simulation, and why can everyone just make replicas all the time?
I guess I feel like this train has left without me, as I’m wandering somewhere aimlessly. I don’t feel connected with the story as I used to. I feel like there’s a certain part of this story I didn’t quite receive fully so I feel lost. I’ve played each title multiple times, including DDD and com. I suppose I started to feel this way around DDD.

Don’t worry, most of the community still doesn’t understand that kingdom hearts is like any other form of media, merely consciousness trying to get its story out. That’s why it focuses on the war between light and dark because kingdom hearts takes place in a 3D reality. People think it’s a 2D reality because of what the next dimension looks like for the reality of kingdom hearts.
4D for kingdom hearts looks like our reality so people are trying to say that a dimension up is our reality which is why they call it fiction because they can’t possibly comprehend our reality. But in reality, what’s going on is that kingdom hearts was a world parallel to the one we find ourselves in, many concepts sure, but two main driving concepts, light and dark.
This is why so many media throughout history portrays a battle between light and dark, it’s all our 3D reality has to worry about. And all forms of media are 4D entities (or concepts) manifesting themselves in our reality.
A dimension up for us is the dimension of concepts, it’s practically fiction to us because we will never have a full grasp of the concepts, we will only ever get bleeding thoughts from the consciousness of the concept in hopes we grant the concept a form in this reality need it be through speaking of the concept or creating a form of media or even an invention would be a good enough means of manifesting a concept into this reality.
So honestly, don’t get too caught up in it, even the people that think they know what kingdom hearts is about have no idea what kingdom hearts is about. But I have a feeling they will soon if they start using consciousness and ego instead of heartless and nobody. But only time will tell.
… … …WHOA…🤯
(I don’t know why, but…I think I understand this?😳 This feels surreal…)
Took a lot of work with the lense of consciousness to try and get it down in an intelligible way that didn’t involve religion. So the fact that you can understand what I wrote is actually a nice little development for me and I thank you for that.
To be honest, it was slightly confusing, but beautiful to read…😅 and I understood parts of it.
So, is our 4th dimension, (the “dimension of concepts”) related to the power of imagination? Like, if I imagine a character (my little friend, Gina the dream dragon) and made a sculpture of her, to “bring her into this reality” or so that she can “physically exist”…Is the idea of her existing in this dimension mean that she truly exists in the 4th dimension? And that this “thought” of her I had actually comes from “the consciousness of the [dimension of] concept”? (I’m just curious about the subject your discussing in this thread/post. So my question here could either prove that I’ve understood what you’ve said, or it could prove that I actually have no clue what your talking about, even though I truly believed that I understood what you described…😅).
And also…is this what’s happening in terms of the plot of Kingdom Hearts, with Sora and >!Yozora!<, and the Master of Masters talking about traveling to >! “A world [he] can’t even conceive, a world of Fiction”!<?
Also, like how the >!video game that we first see Yozora in within the world of Toy Story, actually does exist within another dimension, despite the fact that it was “imagined up” by someone and made into a video game within the Toy Story world.!< 🤔
If you have time, please tell me more. Or better yet, try to explain this to me. I’d really like to continue this discussion. 😅😊
Thank you.☺️
Yes you are on point, the question then becomes did the human create the concept or did the concept implant itself into the person, I like to believe the latter, and if one were to believe the latter then the more one thinks about the concept the more power is given to the concept and in return it would grant you more ideas for your character.
So say you have a character who appears in your mind, you keep interacting with it and find out it’s personality it’s wishes and dreams, and eventually you go on to how it looks, it’s friends and their eccentricities, their world, the laws that govern it, etc.
And yes, yozora is soras consciousness, if one were to go so far, it’s the source of his consciousness, I still need to sift through kingdom hearts, it seems there were concepts brought in early but not given full thought based on nomuras spiritual journey.
One could view heartless as consciousness and nobody as ego. In the material 3D form of course. The reason they look so cookie cutter compared to one another is due to them being embodiments of darkness and it doesn’t care much for aesthetic as light does. It only cares with its greatest vessels not those split in two.
I know it goes pretty deep but also shows a spiritual journey. Those were physical manifestations of ego and consciousness. And I don’t feel it is right to go this deep at the moment because the spirit of kingdom hearts is currently talking to me and I’m a bit flabbergasted to be honest. So I’ll respect it and get back on point.
Okay so we will stick to what you said and go back to what we had said before. The reality sora went to is the reality of fiction, the reality of concepts, this means light and dark aren’t even blips on the radar anymore. They can’t comprehend anything other than the battle between light and dark, it’s all that makes sense.
And yes yozora was a consciousness or concept that implanted itself into an individual to create in a lower dimension. Sort of like religion in our world.
But what I meant with yozora being the consciousness tied to sora, I meant just that, it’s the consciousness or concept he’s tied to, he did some things that can never be taken back so now he goes to the concept or consciousness he was tethered to.
