Javelin/Frost

Just got the game, Javelin’s seem pretty unique for crpgs, and combining a javelin thrower with a frost mage to slow enemies down while kiting sounds like a cool RP

Is this viable at all though? I don’t mind if it’s just somewhat suboptimal, but I don’t want to feel like the inherently weakest character in my party.
