Covering patio with composite deck

I have ~640sqft of patio close to Austin, TX. We wanted to cover it with composite deck, but prices for materials are expensive! Like around 30-40USD/sqft. Is this the case, or I'm missing something? Any good recommendations on brand to check? We were also thinking about doing epoxy there, but I'm sure it's not going to look as good as composite deck and I'm not sure about durability. What else can I explore?
