New tire losing air soon after installation dealership claims I caused damage to the tire.

Basically title - I had the car on 4 fresh tires and less than a week later the front drivers tire was low - it was not curbed and was driven less than 20km in this period.

Took it back to the dealer and yes of course it's my fault.

My question is - am I being screwed here and do I have any recourse?

If they're seeing a bulge or cut in the tire, then is driver error. Ask them specifically what they're seeing. If it's leaking from the bead area, then they didn't do a good job cleaning the bead area before installing.

What did they say you did to the tire? What evidence do they have of this?

Leak tires are easy to diagnose, so ask them for details.

so it took me until this afternoon to get ahold of the guy but apparently there was a screw in the side wall.

guess it's just shit luck

Yeah wow. I've gotten plenty of nails and screws but never in the sidewall! It obviously can happen though.

Shouldn't have to be that big of a deal probably the rim needs to be cleaned better there's some goopy stuff they been should have put between a tire and rim to make a good seal maybe they didn't even if they try blaming something on you and make you pay for it a leak repair should not be much money at all

You need to ask them specifically how you caused the leak. Where is the leak? Did you purchase repair/replacement certificates with them?
