Has any of you guys modified cards by printing on top of them?

I'm asking this because I'm playing with the thought of doing minor modifications to the card Blackwing Auster the Southwind which is very strong but quite inconsistent with the rest of the Blackwing lineup lookwise and quite ugly imo.

I've tried to simulate how sunbleaching the cards' motive would look like via photoshop (by reducing reds, yellows and greens) and the result looks better than the original imo but I'd rather print on top of the card, remove the bird and make it look like there's only clouds and wind.

Does any of you have experience with this yet? How would I have to proceed?

edit: I saw SGJins' tutorial but he does it with holos, not commons and he says that he doesn't even glue the foil he uses together with the blank cards as it won't look good so it doesn't seem like an optimal method
