Ug my son just asked me the question I wish he never had to...

So I am a type 1 along with my wife. We both wear Tandem/dexcom devices. We have 3 beautiful boys ages 6 , 2, and 8 months and none of them have had any issues as of yet. When my wife got pregnant for the first time the doctors had given our children a 27% chance of contracting diabetes... I have no idea how they came up with this statistic but ok.After getting out of the shower the other day and reconnecting my pump my 6 year old goes to me"Daddy when do I get my pump like you and Mommy?" I knew that he is aware that me and wife both have a specially disorder but it never crossed my mind that he legitimately thought there would be a day he would get a insulin pump ( by gift or santa who knows).

I had to explain to him that this is not something everyone has and he doesn't have to worry about it but it also made me extremely scared that what if he does inherit diabetes from us....

sorry for the rant just wondering if anyone is in a similar situation as me or has any advice from experience THANKS!
