Currently interested in data science as a mechanical Engineering Student

Incoming 3rd year in ME. I decided data science to be more interesting. I have 3 options.

1. Transfer into industrial engineering, which is more related to DS. This would put me behind schedule.
2. Take statistics classes that are related to data science up to 18 credit hours.

3.finish a CS minor that I already strted (2/6 completed) and be able to take additional 2 classes related to Data Science.

Which option sounds the best? I would not mind pursuing a DS in a mechanical/manufacturing field either.
