How the bloody hell can supporting ex-Muslims is supposedly a right-wing cause, as many 'regressive leftists' will claim - where there are plenty of 'bleeding-heart liberal' reasons to support ex-Muslims?

I'm not against religion, per se - but when people use Islam (or Christianity) as an excuse to abuse other people, that's when I have a problem with it. Basically, I oppose Conservative Islam for the same reason as I do Conservative Christianity. The fact that many use the Qur'an or the Bible as an excuse to espouse misogyny or homophobia or to abuse children.

I think if one criticizes Conservative Christianity for religious abuse, then the same should also be applied to Conservative Islam - and vice versa.
