[TX] Parking ticket - kiosk and app refused to accept payment.

TL;DR Parking Kiosk wouldn't let me pay the parking fare. App wouldn't let me either. Got a parking ticket anyways. Do I have any chance at contesting this in court?

Just got a parking ticket downtown (Fort Worth, TX). Situation is as follows: I parked on the street around 3:30PM, and immediately went to the parking meter to get a ticket. They had a 2 hour free parking voucher or something, that is valid until 5 pm. So, it doesn't ask for any payment at this time, just prints me the voucher that is good until 5. At 5 pm I go back to my car to pay for the rest of the parking. I try two different cards at the "Pay2Park" kiosk. Both are "declined" despite having money on them, and being Visa Debit Cards - no credit card involved or anything like that. I try the app. I enter my card info. It tells me "Technical Error". During this span (about 10 minutes) that I'm trying to figure this out, about 3 different groups of people walk by and tell me "hey you know parking's free on weekends." I didn't believe them at first, but hell, the fucking thing is REFUSING to take my payment no matter what. So I decide, fine, it must actually be free after a certain time and that's why it won't accept payment.

I come back an hour later (6PM), and sure enough the "attendant" (wannabe cop), is writing me a ticket just as I'm walking up. I try to explain, it WILL NOT take my payment. He says, "Sir, you're supposed to use the app if it doesn't work at the kiosk." I about lost my shit at this point because THE APP WON'T FUCKING WORK EITHER, and I try to calmly explain this to him. At this point the guy doesn't care, never mind the fact that there's like 5 cars in a row next to mine that all seem to be having this problem. He tells me"Well then you should've used cash for it."

????

Now I really wish I would've had enough cash, because I'm almost certain it would've spit it right back at me!

Am I totally in the wrong here, or do I have a chance at appealing this ticket?

I literally tried everything I could to try and get this thing working. After getting ticketed, I went back and recorded everything, to show that the shit STILL won't take my money. Maybe this would be useful in court?

I really just want to know if I have any chance at appealing this thing, or if I should just shut up and pay the ticket even though I tried all I could to pay the stupid 3 dollar parking fare.
