The definitive way to control drawer smells: pine

Just wanted to share my solution because it had been my only issue with the robot since I got it 3 months ago: Put some pine pellets/chips in the bag in the drawer each time you place a new one.

Seriously, it gets rid of the nasty aromas up until the day the drawer gets full. You don't need to put a lot either, just line the bottom of the bag where the crap will be dropping and it will absorb all smells and even some moisture. I use Everclean clumping litter, which is one of the best for this machine, but even that smelled by the next day. No more having to leave on the extractor or air purifiers, and pine pellets can be cheap too from Tractor Supply.

That said, I still wish there would be a 30 minute cycle wait option for the litter to really clump rock solid.

I’m going to give this a try, I thought since I have three cats it was the reason why I would smell the odor so quickly. And as far as you wanting a 30minute wait time, I’ve noticed if your drawer is full it won’t cycle. So to trick the system you can put something small of weight inside the waste bin, so it will automatically sensor it as being full. Then you can have it wait as long as you want to clump, but you will have to press the cycle button your self.

I do something similar with baking soda. I put about half a cup in every time I change the bag. I buy the giant bags of it from Costco so it’s a cheap solution for us.

Can you show a picture of how that works out?
