Sidenote: I would very much still appreciate it if the gifter decided to choose the standard edition (which is $20) or the collectors edition ($30), and while I would obviously prefer the super edition, I recognize its very unreasonable and rude to be so picky when asking for a gift like this.

I've been playing fighting games for pretty much my entire life, but the complexities of the genre and "gitting gud" has pretty much always eluded me. Even after learning how to get better, and spending many hours getting bodied online and practicing in training mode for various games like Mortal Kombat and DBFZ, I never felt myself improving. I had the theory down, I knew what I was trying to do and could keep up with whats happening fairly easily watching high level tournaments, but I've never been able to effectively execute on that knowledge.

Then one week I decided to try out Battle for the Grid during my free trial of PSNow, and it clicked. Even after only a couple hours of playing it, I felt like all those hours training in other fighting games suddenly unlocked. This game was the first time I had ever felt like my knowledge of fighting games actually helped contribute to making me a better player. That week housed some of the most fun I had ever had playing a fighting game.

And then the free week of PSNow ended and I lost access to the game. I'm not gonna pretend that it was the end of the world or that it ruined fighting games for me, but I'd be lying if I said I never thought I'd rather be playing Power Rangers or at least that Power Rangers did something better than whatever I was playing at the time. With DBFZ I'd sometimes miss Power Rangers because of its lightyears better netcode (thank god for rollback), with Mortal Kombat I'd sometimes miss the more fluid, faster, and free-form combos that Power Rangers offered. But as a (sort of) fresh out of high school teenager rendered jobless by Covid, I currently do not have the means to purchase the game myself and would be very appreciative of anyone generous enough to gift me this game.

If you even just think about getting me this game, thank you for your consideration. Even just the thought is rather generous in and of itself in my opinion, after all, to you I'm just text on a screen. To even think about spending your own money on someone whose name you don't know and whose face you've never even seen shows a pretty selfless personality.
