I think warhammer 2 campaigns are becoming too easy, boringly easy.

Warhammer II

Perhaps CA are taking the wrong message from the feedback on Ikit and Throt, compared to Tehenauin and other campaigns.

People didn't like tehenauin, not because he was hard but rather because his unique mechanics just weren't as interesting or engaging. Because of stuff like Ikit being able to unlock unique RoR specific to his faction while Tehenauin just has a different method of unlocking RoR every lizardmen faction gets. If he got unique RoR that'd just make them feel more special.

With throt its so easy to fill up the vats and just get a bunch of practically free late game monsters that the campaign is laughably easy. Using his labs to create powerful units with unique powerful traits is boring if his campaign is so easy they aren't even necessary because I am just given hell pits without having to tech up to them

I enjoy the new DLC but I have been struggling to find battles I even need to play myself instead of auto resolve. No challenge and easily getting all these powerful mechanics just isn't that fun. I get given all these powerful abilities but I don;t need to use them because the campaign is just so easy. Why is every beastmen building built in one turn and every unit recruited in one turn as well as being free?... So if you lose it you can just recruit instantly for free.

I would like to hear other's views as well.

You know you can ... not ... do the overpowered shit right?

That's the thing for most of these overpowered things I don't even need to concentrate or really try to do this overpowered stuff, it's just given to me. Throt gives you hellpits if you do nothing,

People keep crying about AI cheating in this game.

I'm pretty much in agreement with you but unfortunately I think people enjoy how insanely overpowered these factions are. I think a large part of why people enjoyed Ikit Claw was because you could just nuke your mistakes away.

I think people enjoy the diversity of factions. It's good to play one that has a rough start, like say ME Imirick and then jump into a Taurox campaign for a change of pace.

There are already difficult factions in the game. There is no reason that every single one should be that way.

Yeah, i thought about this recently with the release of the DLC.

Beastmen and Dwarfs are two of my favourite factions.

What has been nice this update is i can play say, Taurox for a while. Then if i get bored i can change to Thorek. Two totally different playstyles.

Its nice to switch, just as long as you dont end up with 20 campaigns on the go. I try and limit it to two factions that differ from each other.

yup and it will only get worse and worse. gone are the days of having to restart a campaign and think for a second.

This. I got through my VH taurox campaign pretty quickly. Very rarely did I have to fight a battle myself finished the long campaign by turn 90. The few times I nearly lost I was able to recruit a full force again by the next turn and keep trucking.

With rampage it made it that much easier. Declare war and wipe out half of a major powers settlements before they can even react.

Strong garrisons let me leave my regions with 0 concern of having to hold them.

I lost 1 fight vs 2 dawi (left them crippled) the next turn I had a full stack again and ambushed the remnants of their armies.

I'm hoping playing as kazrak or malagor are a bit more challenging but given that I confederated them and had them both dominate in their own regions I'm concerned that the beastmen are now too powerful in the players hands, ironically.

Whats that saying? "When the rebels become the tyrants, revolution takes on a new meaning."

You know his campaign is actually easier on higher difficulties right? Or at least it's easier to progress faster because the AI cheats enable them to raise many more armies. But they don't have time to tech up.

The end result is harder difficulties are easier. If you want more of a challenge hit the end turn button 20 or 30 times at the start of your campaign.

We've had 5 years of terrible Beastmen campaigns. 5 years of them being left in the dust by every update. 5 years of non-horde factions being better horde factions than the Beastmen.

What difficulty did you play on? How many hours do you have in the game? Any mods? It's hilarious when people with thousands of hours in a game say, "bah, too easy!"

4

why is that hilarious? how many dlc did this game get in total? shouldn't ca ramp up difficulty after so many years and so much content rather than making every dlc easier and easier?

i waited 5 years for bm update. was absolutely furious when they were released first time. i was happy like a little kid when they announced they are getting new dlc. i never believed they would do another dlc for bm.

i usually stop playing my campaign when i snowball too hard and feel there is nothing ai can do to me. it's usually around turn 100.

i stopped playing taurox at turn 12.

i was lvl 20 and had 3 full stacks with 10 units recruit capacity meaning i can just autoresolve every battle and recruit new units. this is on vh/vh

it's beyond retarded what ca has done with bm. they obvioulsy started catering to casuals with those op dlc factions. we don't see stuff like wulfhart, skarsnik and clan angrund anymore.

"Casuals"?

Wow, never thought i would hear that term used in relation to Total War. Lol.

A single player game.

2

yes, filthy casuals.

How can you be a casual in a single player game?

It's hilarious when people with thousands of hours in a game say, "bah, too easy!"

This is a valid point.

I have over 2500 hours across game 1 and 2. Its easy for me to take for granted how much knowledge and muscle memory i have built up in that time.

I often have to check myself and remember its probably a lot more daunting for people who are just starting out. Especially with all the start choices we have now.

Long time players have adjusted to and absorbed each new lord as they released. Slowly building that knowledge.

Meanwhile a newer player just gets dropped in with 376 different LL's and all their different mechanics and bonuses.

Nobody gives a shit about Ikit Claws RoR units. They play him for buffed up weapon teams and nukes.

As for the rest, cool story bro.

Now go away and let the rest of us have fun with our new toys.

I both agree and disagree. This game is a power fantasy. Player enjoys being op, it is in the genre esthetics. The opness also has a secondary side effect - faster play time. I want to play every faction and subfaction, but I don't want to slog through every one of them to world domination. I simply don't have time or desire. So for me fast fun run on throt is more enjoyable. I may indulge myself in mortal empire map painting once in a while, but that happens only once in 3,4 updates. I also can challenge myself by not doomstacking for flavour. Like flaggelant centered volkmar army, so that I can curb the opness.
