One day I’ll write a novel
Why does everyone want to write a novel ?
Is everyone a hopeless, unfulfilled introvert
waiting to vanquish the burning insatiable
thirst for art that tortures their every morsel?
I thought it was only me
occupied by my quest
to one day not sit and watch
but leave my seat and dance
with my demons, taming them
with makeshift words-
placating the idle thoughtless self.
You mean to say this quest is not
just mine? You mean to tell me
that I am not unique
in my thirst to bleed
through generations, via words
cut by the blade of raw emotion
and stoked in the fires of passion?

I think this is a very cool poem.
Technically, it flows well. It has good bones.
I appreciate the topic. Artists inherently want to make a statement, to mean something, to be thought provoking. This pursuit in itself isn't unique, but it's the wellspring of experience and knowledge from which the artist derives his work, and the way the artist brings it all into manifestation . . . this is where we desperately desire to be unique. However, despite this being a common theme throughout your poem, there's humility seeping out between the seams. It's a nice juxtaposition.
These are the thoughts and feelings your poem inspired within me. I really enjoyed it.
