Friendship breakups are just as bad or worse than relationship breakups

A lot of songs talk about heartbreak when it comes to relationship breakups, but I don’t hear a lot about friendship “breakups.” I think that if a trusted friend betrays you, it can feel worse than being dumped by a boyfriend/girlfriend. Tbh, an ex-friend who betrayed me in high school hurt me worse than the ex that I dated briefly. To this day, I have social anxiety because the betrayal by the friend changed me. It’s almost impossible for me to make friends anymore. Lol sorry if someone already posted something similar to this.

I just noticed that when I was feeling down about this ex-friend, I would complain about it online (again, I don’t have friends near me lol). At that point, I had never been in a relationship before. People were saying “oh, at least you’ve never been in a relationship and been heartbroken before.” And I’m like, “yes I have, I was heartbroken by this friend!” I don’t think they should have invalidated how I was feeling.
