My New Female was just attacked by a Male

So I got a smaller female from an expo yesterday - and I noticed one of my males near her violently shaking his head. I thought he was having a seizure until he jumped onto the branch next to my new female and bit her aggressively on her midsection. Not sure what would have happened if I hadn't been there to yell at him.

Do they need to establish territory through fights or is this an indication that my male is going to kill my new female and I should just find her a new home?
