There's no such thing as the forest of eternal sorrow in Kalimdor.
I am surprised he wasn't called out on that, shits obvious.
Ashenvale is pretty sorrowful after getting ganked again and again.
To be fair they are both pretty similar kind of storys. So a mixup is not at all that suprising
Or a magnetism stat
nor Magnetism.
Swamp of Sorrows maybe?
Lineage 2 player?
Wonder if they have weekly raids?
Meanwhile, outside the Catholic church
"Ok guys, these adds have given us a lot of trouble in the past. Can someone give me a quick calculation on chance of survival?"
"Uhh, I'm coming up with 33 point three three.....repeating of course"
LEEERRROOYYYYY JEEENKINNSSSSSS!!!!!!
Holy shit... did he just run in there? GO GO GO! HELP HIM OUT! WHERE ARE THE PRIESTS, WE NEED HEALS!
MOAR DOTS.
At least I got Chicken.
TOO MANY PRIESTS!
WHERE IS YOUR GOD NOW?!
Leeerrrooyyyyy Jeeenkinnssssss!!!!!!
Thirty two point three three. TWO!!!
Not 'raids' per se...but they do visit the instanced neighborhoods every so often, does that count?
My favorite part is where the guy wastes someone's time and you post it for approval
I don't mind this kind of thing. The guy on the other side agreed to talk to random people about Mormonism over the internet, I think he has to expect some stuff like this. OP wasn't insulting the guy or his beliefs or being a total asshole, just having a little fun.
I bet that if you asked them, they'd say that they're glad to talk to anyone about their beliefs, and that even the most insincere conversation can still plant the seeds of salvation, or whatever.
As a former Mormon missionary, I can say that this interaction would have totally made my day. Win win.
the helmet of salvation? seriously?
Wonder if there's a set bonus with the Sword of a Thousand Truths.
Only to be countered by the complete set of The Spear of Destiny + the Crown of Thorns. Best epic equipment set out there.
Where do you get the necklace with a t on it?
... It's a cross.
There's also a breastplate of riteousness and a belt of truth: http://www.jimlikens.com/assets/images/Armor-of-God-Poster-web-1.jpg
Is that a Roman soldier?
Yeah. When Paul was writing his letters to the Ephesians, he used military imagery to describe spiritual things, and the military they were most familiar with at the time were the Roman military. This is why modern depictions of the armor of god show Roman soldiers, instead of say: medieval knights, or crusaders.
Not seriously. Theres no ephesians 8. The book stops at 6.
Didn't you know? Mormons have bonus chapters!
Its Ephesians 6:10-18, not 8, but still hilariously relevant and kind of impressive 'Marissa' had that ready to go.
(10) Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. (11) Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. (12) For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. (13) Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. (14) Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, (15) and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. (16) In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. (17) Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
(18) And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.
I fucking lost it when they cited that.
I wish I could have been in the meeting room when the board of directors proposed the question of 'should we allow online chatting on our website?' Not a single person thought that would be a bad idea?
The people on the other end are usually missionaries at the training center before they go out, so they're not paying people to do it all the time. It's two fold in that they can get some real world experiences (with both trolls and people who are actually interested), and it gives people with real questions a place to go.
Ive used the chat for serious questions, i usually end with something about magnets though.
This Mormon religion sounds like Dungeons and Dragons. It's been many years since I've played...if any Mormons ever come to my door, I'm gonna break out my 20 sided dice and invite them in!
Mormon here who plays tons of Dungeons and Dragons.
I love Chick Tracts!
Irreligiously did a great episode about their favorites: http://www.irreligiosophy.com/?p=786
Ah! A fellow Irreligiosophite! Did you hear about its cancellation? :(
The Chick Tracts episodes are second only to the "Advice to Young Men" episode.
Yea, its really too bad. Apparently Chuck is going to start a different podcast in a few months. Not sure what to expect without Leighton.
Advice to Young Men is another instant classic along with the Chick Tracts. The chick tract with the devil visiting the black folks in New Orleans is great.
I pity the fool who didn't know that!
Just don't fail the gullibility saving throw.
Going out of your way to troll Mormons? WAY TO GO, MAN!
bonus points for going capslock in the midDLE OF A WORD
The timing was espECIALLY APT.
as an atheist.. Mormons (no lie), are the nicest people I've ever met. Had 2 mormon friends in highschool.. Both of them were genuine and caring.
I'm an ex-mormon and this is generally true. Most mormons are pretty good people. I think the reason they are so nice to people is that they are so good at misinterpreting and ignoring things in their current and past doctrines.
They also have the luxury of being able to say that they still have divine inspiration and revelation, so they can just change their beliefs and say that God told them it was time, and that he works in mysterious ways. It sort of makes them better for society as a religion, as they are only 50 years behind the majority instead of hundreds of years. =)
It's funny that their prophet receives cell phone calls from God as soon as core beliefs become inconvenient.
For example, right as the US military was preparing to conquer Utah, old Brigham got the call from the big man to reverse course on a core Joe Smith doctrine, polygamy. (although they continued to do it secretly in mexico).
Or more recently, God finally let them know in 1978 that Blacks and all other non-white races (skin darkness was based on sin) weren't lower life forms. It was getting hard to recruit as a racist organization.
It's certainly convenient, and has happened with enough things in the church's history to cause one to question whether the motives are what the leaders of that church claim it to be.
I'm always amazed at how willing people are to accept something as coincidence when it defends their ideology and how willing they are to dismiss something when it challenges their ideology.
This is definitely not specific to the Latter Day Saint religion, it just gets more attention because the Latter Day Saint religion is newer and has to do more hand waving explanation than institutions that have been around for a much longer amount of time. The more time that goes by, the more distorted things get.
In 100 years it's ENTIRELY plausible that the LDS church could reverse their views on gay marriage and then claim that God didn't really want the church to support Prop 8, and that the support from prop 8 wasn't a commandment from God and that it was just the presidency of the church that said that.
They did the same thing with lots of things: the practice of polygamy(even portraying themselves as the victims, saying they had to practice it because they were being persecuted), blacks and the priesthood, the Adam-God doctrine, etc.
There is a lot of evidence to suggest that we should really try to preserve EVERYTHING that the mormon church(and other churches and organizations) did regarding prop 8 so that they can not distort what really happened in the future.
I guarantee you that as homosexual civil rights gain wider support in country, the LDS prophet will eventually get another call from the big guy.
You know, these are the same guys that whine about the dangers of moral relativism- despite the fact it appears, looking at the previous revelations, God's values really do change with the times.
Iglesia de Jesucristo de los Santos de los Ultimos Dias.
If you thought the english name of the churches were long.
Yo vi una columna di luz mas brillante que el sol directamente ariba de me cabeza, y dos personajes desendio sobre me, y uno, senalando al otro di, esto es mi hijo amado, eschuchalo!
7 years later I still can't get this damn lie out of my head.
Wow...so many times quoting that. So many glazed-over eyes of those poor Chileans who just wanted me to go away and leave them alone. I would spitfire that 1st discussion just to get the numbers.
lol its been 5 years for me and I had forgotten it completely until now. But it cracks me up looking back at it. My mission feels like a weird dream now.

The real questions is...why the FUCK are you on Internet Explorer? That's a sin right there
Those underwear dont offer protection from those types of viruses
he's a paying scientologist. I think that explains plenty.
no its the HELMET of salvation........ Let me just get on my Chocobo and get outta this house of crazy.
Lucy Harris smart smart smart, Martin Harris dumb.
This seemed like fairly garden-variety trolling up to the end, where I admit I lol'd pretty hard. Repost from ArtofTrolling.com, but I see it's your cake day. We'll let it slide, have an upvote.
Upvote for the last line of this.
getting way
totoo real.
When in doubt, use “to,” unless you’re meaning to say “in addition” or “to an excessive degree,” then use “too.”
anyone else try and exit the window of the picture... anyone? god I'm an idiot
Internet Explorer ಠ_ಠ
This is fake! Nobody uses ie.
As a Mormon, this is hilarious. Although you're forgetting the underwear with +10 seduction resistance.
Out of curiosity, why are you mormon?
Short answer, I was born Mormon and buy into it. In my experience, Mormons do a fairly good job of not being total jerks.
I've never met a rude Mormon.
They all seem like the kind of guys I'd go and get a beer with-- a cup of cof--
Fuck it.
Coca Co ... nevermind
I know one Mormon who fucked me over. She said that, in exchange for fixing up her apartment (landlord refused to do anything as most of it was self-inflicted, which included holes in walls, a kicked in bedroom door, broken cupboards, fridge off the hinges, etc), and getting baptized with the church (she didn't want to hire a non-mormon), she would pay 3 months rent for me, which is about $2,400 + cost of materials.
So, needing the money as I was unemployed, and EI wouldn't kick in for 6-12 weeks, I did it. I got baptized. I did all the work. She provided me the materials to fix her apartment, and I used my own tools.
She never did pay my rent.
Why is that even relevant? Most mormons I have met are fine people, but that in and of itself tells us NOTHING about the faith's truth claims.
Claims about objective reality rise and fall on the evidence, not on the character of those making the claims.
While that is a completely fair assessment that I happen to fall in line with, it is also true that many people believe that the end justifies the means when it comes to issues of religion. Doesn't mean it makes sense to us, but then again, he/she doesn't really have to answer to us either, nor does it have to make sense.
But the quality of the company rises and falls on the character of those making the claims. Believe what you want -- just don't shove it down my throat! See, Mormons aren't allowed to do that anyway.
You don't have enough experience.
I'm young yet. There's still time to be offended!
How many experience points until level up?
Meaning, you're a mormon because your friends and family are mormons?
By that comment, I meant the Mormon church does a pretty good job of emphasizing the basic decency Christianity is all about. That's not the only reason, of course, but it would be a deal-breaker if it wasn't so.
As I previously said, I honestly believe in the LDS package.
*unless you live in Utah but outside SLC
Every time I've visited Utah, I'm amazed at how weird things get when that many Mormons are grouped together. I'm pretty sure it's not healthy.
I believe that you can't call a group of people jerks since all groups have jerks and nice people but if you are following something that makes you happy then who am I to say you are wrong. As long as you are happy with who you are and what you do.
Most mormons aren't jerks, but they also aren't very christlike either.
Source: I used to be mormon.
If you want to know why mormonism isn't true all you need to do is do is study more than the correlated church materials.
I, too was born into it. But, if you're serious about it, there comes a time in your life when you have to find out for yourself...to decide for yourself. Otherwise, r/atheism will eat you alive. :)

Mormonism is not as largely understood as other abrahamic religions. It's very insular.
I was just asking a question mate, you know to educate myself.
Out of curiosity, what are you doing in r/atheism?
I was browsing r/all, saw this, upvoted, etc. /r/atheism does produce some entertaining content, when it's not faked facebook conversations.
This. I'm also a Mormon, but this was brilliant.
I'm Mormon too... why are all three of us in r/atheism? Because it's fucking funny that's why!
Every Facebook post ever:

Please show me to the fake facebook conversations.
They're not all fake, because some people are stupid, but it's quite a stretch to say that they're all real.
Ah hah. Believe it or not I dated a Mormon a while back. While I find your belief zany, you are some of the nicest people out there. Hope you enjoy what /r/atheism has to offer:)
Out of curiosity, why do many r/atheism subscribers believe this subreddit is difficult to stumble into? Legitamate question, not trying to be a douche. I just see this a lot, often with negative undertones.
I't not being negative at all. Thing is you choose what you see on Reddit. So he's clearly choosing to browse it. I was just asking him why.
I apologize, I did not mean to imply you had included any negative undertones in yours. I have seen it before, but it's clearly absent from your comment.
Maybe the same reason r/atheism posters end up Facebook friends with church groups, evangelicals, etc.
Pretty sure the fundies don't have entertaining screencaps.
I always thought garments gave Mormons -2 to Appearance whenever visible.
Hmm, I would just say -10 Seduction.
Saying +10 Seduction Resistance seems like you're going out of your way or trying to hard.
