It's definitely a fine line to play with, my perception was just that these WORDS have the qualities of the Beauty & the Beast at the same time. Like Belle, with werewolf hair all on her body....

The first thing that came to my mind when reading this poem was the Don McLean song, "Vincent，“  about Van Gogh that says, "they weren't listening, they aren't listening still, perhaps they never will."

I love the personification of words as actors in the poems.

I was a little bit confused when the "words" started out sounding like something powerful, described as a beast, but then, the words are lightfully dancing on the author's tongue, teasing the author, and the words are stuck begging and pleading. None of these things are what I associate with a beast, moreso a chained beauty.

But I understand the sentiment so much. It is a very difficult thing to have beautiful ideas that the world does not yet understand. 

I hope one day you set those words free.

I love the title. "I have so much to say" is poetry in itself, in a way. 

Some notes: I had to reread a few times to really settle into it. I'm trying to figure out exactly what you were feeling when you wrote this. The imagery is dark: "beast in a cave" etc. I keep going back to the title and I really want to know more about what you have to say. I understand that saying it is hard if you feel like it wont be appreciated by your audience, but I'm curious to know WHY you think that. 

A piece of the story is missing. Keep going! :)

thanks so much! i ended up changing it around to make it more like a “beast”, let me update my post with the changes. also - i have to disagree with the comment about the last line. i appreciate it, though! i wanted the poem to build up to WHY the words wanted to be unleashed so badly, that’s why it’s not mentioned till the end.

I like the metaphor for words being  trapped inside of your mouth, it’s a really good visual for me as I can imagine someone tightening up their jaw and physically holding back words. This was really good, I found the last line a bit unfitting with the rest of the poem, because people listening wasn’t previously reference, but I still really liked it! I would give you Ana ward if I had any coins left. Bravo.

the words lay dormant in the dark corners of my mind
 
like a beast in a cave

waiting to be unleashed

yet 

they never will 

they stomp on the tip of my tongue 

pounding upon my lips 

roaring their pleads for release from such treacherous captivity 

but yet - their efforts fail them

for who would speak such powerful words 
to an audience with no ears?
