If you are asking about the Mars 3, contact Elegoo directly; not us. There is currently no reliable community info about the 3 and chitubox/firmware, and as of September 21st there is no firmware download available on the support page. If you contact Elegoo please feel free to DM me screenshots of their response regarding the Mars 3 and firmware/chitubox compatibility so that I can start collating and updating information.

EDIT: As of October 12th, there is a zip file for the Mars 3 screen firmware, but no instructions listed on the page or included in the file. Contact Elegoo directly for instructions.

If you are using a previous version of chitubox (1.8.1 or older) and it's working fine, you do not need to update your firmware or chitubox. You can leave everything as-is.

-

If you updated Chitubox but have no reason to stay on version 1.9, uninstall it and revert to a previous version instead. Most users seem to have no issues when returning to a previous version.

-

If you've updated your printer firmware and you are using Chitubox 1.9 but are still experiencing issues, try downgrading chitubox. Uninstall 1.9 and try 1.8.1 or lower.

-

If you updated chitubox to 1.9 and wish to keep using it, you will need to update your firmware on your printer. Previous printer firmware versions are apparently unable to see .ctb files sliced with 1.9.

  • Make sure you select the correct printer from the left-hand side. The top-most file is the most recent firmware release. Trying to install the firmware for a different printer can brick your printer so please make sure you've selected the correct one.
  • Place all needed files in the root directory of your USB stick. Do not put the files into a folder.
  • Run the files in the order listed on the firmware section where you downloaded it. THE ORDER IS IMPORTANT. PLEASE read the instructions and cautions listed on the page.
  • The files in the UI folder are, at least for this update, unnecessary. Just follow the instructions for the other three files.

When you're done, remove the USB stick and try rebooting the printer. Don't leave the USB stick in, it will just keep trying to read the .sh4 file.

If you previously downloaded the firmware and it wasn't working, try downloading it again and use the new files. There may have been a mixup at some point with the wrong files being hosted.

IF YOU ARE STILL HAVING ISSUES DESPITE DOWNLOADING FIRMWARE FROM ELEGOO:

Try using the downloads from Chitu instead. Scroll down to find your printer: https://www.chitubox.com/en/download/chitubox-free

Chitu now redirects downloads to Elegoo's support page. It seems Elegoo is up to date now.

If you are still having major issues, definitely contact Elegoo. If you email them, check your spam folder for their response; they're in China which means they frequently get flagged as spam. You can also use Facebook or Twitter to PM them if you'd prefer that. They might have more advanced instructions or utilities if something is seriously FUBAR with your board.
