Was everyone in Sparta hard as fuck?

Like were all the men tough, no weaklings. Like everyone from a street merchant to the bladesmith would be buff AF.

Kind of sort of. It was mandatory for men to go through what is essentially military training from age 7 and had a huge emphasis on physical fitness as part of daily life. It was expected that men stay "military ready" all the way until the age of 60. Male babies seen as week were executed.

Likely no. Their culture may have been to have men needed for war but logistically not everyone of a single gender would be beneficial for such task. Men (and women) would still be needed for other non-physical.
