Do I need to replace both oxygen sensors?

I have a code for a bad downstream O2 sensor, do I need to replace the upstream as well? It’s a 2010 Honda Civic Si if that matters.

You don't if the upstream is working.

Cool thanks! It’s okay to drive until the part comes in right? The downstream is just for emissions I’m told

An emissions fault will give you a malfunction indicator light (aka check engine) you also might have fuel economy issues. And you won't pass a smog check... If you have those where you live.

I don’t think they check emissions here but either way its already passed inspection and I won’t need another one until next year

Edit: the main thing I just wanted to make sure it won’t do any damage to the engine

Just replace the bad sensor.

I've seen cars with over 250K miles with the original sensors.

No but it doesn’t hurt if you already rented the wrench, denso sensors of rock auto is the best bang for buck

I haven’t rented the tool yet nor ordered the parts, I don’t really want to spend an extra $100 for the front one if I don’t have to which is why I was asking Edit: I’ll also probably just end up buying the tool because I’m an idiot and I buy tools I’ll almost never use
