Heart of gold variety. US zone 7b. Flesh is clearly ripe, very juicy and has a fairly bitter aftertaste.
I thought mine were ripe and they weren't, but yours look a whole lot riper than mine.
Did they pop off the vine when you gently pulled them?
Is the side opposite the vine slightly "soft" (can you press it in a little)?
Is there a nice sweet smell from that side as well?
I hope you have a ton more, hopefully they just need another day or two.
If all else fails, stop by my house and I'll leave some of mine on the front porch for you!
How bitter exactly? i know courgette can end up bitter and poisonous. It was a post a week or so ago. And they are related.

They aren't super bitter, just a slight aftertaste that I haven't found in commercial grown fruit.
