The artwork on some of these cards is excellent.

I really miss the older art work of the magic cards. Now its all this over CG stuff, with a very ridged adherence to a particular style. The old cards, when they had painters do them and were a bit more loose on their style requirements were amazing. When will you ever see another card with an image like the one on Stasis.

laughs For those who don't follow Magic, the art for Stasis is generally considered controversial, showing up on more than a few of "worst card art" lists.
Personally, I defend your opinion as I have no strong feelings on the art itself. Sure, it's weird, but the game was way different back then.

"over CG stuff" ... are you for real? they use Photoshop (sometime painter) , and this media is called digital PAINTING. Look up Jason Chan, Raymond Swanland, Austin Hsu... mind blown

Read the card, it says that you can play it from the graveyard (the discard pile).

I'm kind of surprised it doesn't give you a zombie token for every human killed by the cards effect.
