Redback boots didn't work out - other options?

Was going to buy blundstone boots and ended up buying redback boots based on the recommendations around here. Unfortunately, they are way too tight across my insteps. Like crushingly, toe tingling tight. (Curious if anyone else has had this issue?)

I'm looking for something that will hold up to working outside all day kicking rocks, getting wet, dusty etc but will hopefully still breathe. It's stupid hot where we are and I've been rocking Dunlop rubber boots for many years but would like something more versatile. Any suggestions?

Btw, female, totally groovy with gender neutral/"men's" boots if they come in small sizes.
