My fo4 broke so plis help me figure out why

Yeah, so uhhh i don't know how to explain this but i designed a character for V.A.T.S and first my character froze when exiting the cryopod. And the i made the same character again with the same stats but this time the vault door didn't open when i tried to exit but i manged to glitch past it with a cone. When i finaly got out of the vault V.A.T.S stopped working, like i press vats button and hold but nothing happens. so can you guys help me fix it?
