Damn, that digger stage. I think my first ever exposure to KOF was a flash game where you played as K' on that stage. Does anyone know what I'm talking about?

It could be anything honestly. KOF was the most popular source for Mugen & Flash fangames up until half of the last decade.

Fair point. I remember playing a Street Fighter fangame except all the sprites and stages were from SVC Chaos.

I love the Monte Carlo, Rainy Park and Hong Kong stages from 97, Osaka Japan from 98, and Korea from 2000. Shit just captured my imagination when I was a kid.

I didn't realize that Kula could only show up in 2 stages in 2000.
2000 has the best overall presentation of all of the KOF games. It really was a great final game of the old SNK.
