[Cross post from r/travel] Help! What should I do in Jakarta?

I'll be traveling as a US national to Jakarta from Shanghai next week. My usual options to find stuff to do in and around Jakarta come up short (wikitravel, Lonely Planet, checking the local sub). I'll be staying with a with a native friend. When I asked what we should do he said what I want. So what should I do?

Some general info and about likes and dislikes:

General Info:

I don't know what district we will be in but one of the outskirts.

My friend has a drivers license and a car so any where not super far away (1 or 2 hours). Comfortable with public transportation. Be staying for 10 days. No problems being the only foreigner around (currently living in China).

Likes:

History: I'm a big fan of history and historical sites. Really enjoy all kinds of historical sites.

Food Tourism: I really enjoy trying new and exciting foods. Big fan of street food. No dietary restrictions. I love super spicy foods.

Eco Tourism: I really enjoy seeing the wonders of the natural world. No problem with intermediate hikes or physical activity.

Beaches/Swimming: Living in Shanghai, I haven't had any time for a nice swim for awhile.

Smaller Cities: I've always enjoyed seeing some of the smaller towns during travelling.

Dislikes

Shopping: Not a big shopper, unless its seeing a traditional market.

Partying/Clubbing/KTV: I enjoy a drink or drinks as much as anyone but not into the club scene.

Any advice from locals or those with experience about Jakarta in general would greatly be appreciated.
