Browsing the dude's Twitter history is insane:
"Without acknowledging that mainstream media, science, international organizations, medical establishment, governments, and their ilk, have completely failed us in this pandemic, attempts to understand what @BretWeinstein and @HeatherEHeying are doing fall far off the mark."
Ooooooookay
It's pretty much unlimited word Salad and breadsticks at Olive Garden 🤣
Oh shit, is this the first time you've noticed this idiot?
Buyer beware, this dude is batshit crazy and 100% committed to the cause.
Just reply with a picture of Yuri Deigin giving a thumbs up or something. Yuri has been relentlessly drinking Alexandros' milkshake for months now, to the point I kind of feel bad for the guy.
Hey Alexandros, what were the odds that the better skeptics project results would have disagreed with your priors from the outset?
Negligible indeed.
Learned recently about better skeptics and as Chris pointed out their logo is a "not" symbol over "BS", implying that we don't want "better skeptics"? The project is also referred to as the BS project by proponents of it.
Does anyone else question their sanity when looking at twitter or youtube comments?
Yup. A part of me still hopes that social media dramatically over-amplifies the insane and extreme fringes because outrage drives engagement which drives revenue, and that there still is a big silent majority who just don't bother with this nonsense, but it might be wishful thinking.
Twitter and its character limit specifically seem to favor stupid claims because all nuance is lost.
Self selection is big. I was originally sympathetic to Bret re Evergreen but I found it painful listening to the nonsense he was saying on Rogan and tuned out almost immediately. I had a similar experience with Heather, listening to her on Half Hour Of Heterodoxy (Heterodox Academy) podcast. The listeners who hung around and became their audience found that persuasive.
There's also a threshold for some types of behavior that, when passed repels a lot of people who nope out of it rather than push back.
This reddit post about a Twitter fight kinda leads into what you are saying.
