Jack & Claire Interactions Masterlist (with credit to Geocities OGs) Pt. 1
Now with fresh streaming footage - no more recordings of my TV! Thanks again to u/maraudelle for the suggestions in the comments.

Here's my modern attempt, with the original links to Geocities on Wayback Machine below and endless gratitude to those creators. I'll update the title to see how long I get into Season 5 today. Let me know what you think of the format, whether I should add more videos or pics, etc. I'm attempting to film the fun parts and link them on imgur throughout today and maybe make it 5 episodes for each post. Please, please, please give any feedback on how you'd like this done! I'm already having a time with Imgur but hope the hidden post links will work for y'all.
I'm going through these episode by episode but need to give due credit to the original blogs that pioneered the format and put together the saucy hidden narrative. On each post the Geocities sites that did this first to my knowledge will be linked at the very bottom.
SEASON FIVE/THE FIFTH YEAR
E1: Second Opinion
- The first interaction NOW IN STREAMING FORM! https://imgur.com/a/FIFkorB
- Claire: I spoke with Mr. Schiff. He said you had requested me.
- Jack: ...Your reputation precedes you.
- Claire: As does yours, including your relationships with previous assistants?
- Here Jack goes into a brief spiel about how he married one of his three previous assistant lovers, and he shouldn't have to apologize and the relationships were mutual.
- Claire: I just wanted to make it clear.
- Jack: I certainly don't anticipate a problem. (Followed by an adorable flirty expression) Can we get to work now?
- Later, Jack starts loosening his tie as they debate whether the case has a feminist angle, and she keeps his eyes squarely on his while she says her feminism is "not latent" and he removes his jacket. https://imgur.com/a/lGyk7B2 He's clearly impressed and exhausted but still strident and she isn't intimidated at all. He takes his tie off and proceeds to pontificate on how it's a "tits and ass world" WHILE CHANGING PANTS behind his door. When he buckles his belt and comes back to his desk, he asks "Can we get a drink now" and she acquiesces with a smirk and it's implied they walk out together to do just that. https://imgur.com/a/bUemKb8
- At the end, they're walking out and he has his motorcycle helmet. She's already hewing close to him as they leave the office.
- Claire: Speaking of which, I checked.
- Jack: On what?
- Claire: You've only had three woman assistants.
- Jack: You're the one who wanted to know the truth.
- As they walk away here, Claire looks forward, kind of shell-shocked, or is she intrigued? Whatever it is, she's doing the opposite of avoiding the new boss who's clearly charmed the hell out of her since they were paired up. https://imgur.com/a/C6x5CXi
E2: Coma
- First physical interaction! Claire joins Jack on a bench near the courthouse while he's eating his lunch. Note body language - she sits pretty close to him while he's reaching down for a napkin and her body is angled toward his. He leans in a little and then places his hand on her shoulder. No reaction from Claire while he keeps it there and tells her what their next steps are; she just stares and listens while he talks. Only when she starts to look distant and says "I don't know" does he remove his hand. No admonishment here; she even gestures on her way out by tapping the back of the bench between them before she stands up. https://imgur.com/a/ittCCWF
- Total overanalysis perhaps, but she seems a little put out when he tells her to go driving around looking for the gun purchase in a subsequent scene. Her expression (a little sigh, too) exudes disappointment that she's being sent on an errand. Hoping he'd come along? Starting to feel funny about the flirtation ramping up between them and potential problems with the power imbalance? https://imgur.com/a/S61KFG7
- We end the two's interactions in this episode with Claire's disappointment over the case and Jack straightening up into Grizzled Mentor Mode, telling her she'll get over it eventually. The power dynamic is well and alive. https://imgur.com/a/X0yKUUB
E3: Blue Bamboo
- Meeting in Adam's office, they're all nicely sitting on separate couches and chairs while they eat their takeout. That'll change.
- Jack and Claire walk and talk after her lunch with the source and it almost immediately looks like they're bumping shoulders while walking rather than keeping a respectful distance. She's amused -- beaming -- over his sarcasm. Then, here we go - he makes a fist and playfully punches her arm before they part. Is this how you treat new coworkers weeks after trying to establish real boundaries? See video: https://imgur.com/a/qvJZAyQ
- Eating dinner during case prep, Claire jokes "He probably thought she just wanted to kiss and make up," then looks toward him suggestively. Jack doesn't notice and she's quickly distracted by a process server. https://imgur.com/a/8GqI0SY
E4: Family Values
- A reach? He's adjusting his tie and hair and where are they walking from? What were they doing beforehand? I also think their conversation about the prenup has flirtatious overtones. https://imgur.com/a/HoowQBB
- Jack looks Claire up and down while they talk about the case. Not even subtle. Imagine your boss looking at you this way. https://imgur.com/a/ju33SIo
E5: White Rabbit
- Upon further review of this episode, I noticed a walk and talk that's less than purely professional. They even seem to bump up against each other. New York isn't THAT crowded, you two. https://imgur.com/a/SKR1EkI
- Way beyond a professional subordinate's shame right here. And after her snarky remark, Jack seems remorseful that he's made her feel so terrible about it. https://imgur.com/a/27GB2h9
- They're too close together for pure colleagues at the beginning. As they ascend the stairs, their interaction seems relatively normal, but then gets more intense and close toward the end. https://imgur.com/a/OkZ4WOE
- "The policeman she shot could've been your father." That's an intimate line, point blank, pun intended. We're 5 episodes in to Jack's character and his father's occupation was only mentioned in passing. Seems like she really knows how to connect with him and get under his skin, doesn't it? https://imgur.com/a/G9AESLd
- Their quiet interaction here betrays real intimacy. https://imgur.com/a/imDgR57
