Tonight is my first time at Petco Park. How do the fan giveaways work?
I'm not expecting to score anything for free, but I'm still curious.
Really I'm just happy I finally get to see the Dads play at home.

They… give away things to fans.

You walk in, there’s the giveaways on tables. Pluck one, and off you go.

Today is backpack day. There will be a bunch of Padres employees opening boxes of them and handing them out after you pass through security and scan your ticket.
Not to sound like an idiot...
...but that's it? I don't have to have a special ticket or anything? Just - boom - Padres backpack.
Correct. They literally put it in your hands.
However, If they have limited quantity and you are later, you will be handed a rain check. I have to wait until October to get my beach towel 😢
Sorry to hear you have to wait.
Since I'm from out of town (but I'm moving here in two years I hope), I'll be there early to be up front in line. I'm gonna walk the mile from my hotel and be in Padres Mode early.
Enjoy the game!!
Good call. Today is a sellout.
No trivia, no credit history, don't have to extend your auto warranty.
Don't say "boom" though 😅
Good point. Since I'm older, I'll change it up to boom-shakalaka!
Lmao, that got me good, thx lol.
Yes. All fans tonight get a Padres backpack as they walk in. Some people may also get special girl or boy scout jerseys (given out in a booth near right field entrance), but you had to buy a special ticket for those.
I thought the backpacks were just for kids
Tomorrow is kids backpack day
