While those are great suggestions I think it should be pointed out that Nordwar's armors are definitely not vanilla+. They are a completely different style then vanilla. 

If you want armors/weapons that improve vanilla you want aMidianborn(or New Haven that uses aMidianborn and fills in the gaps), Old Kingdom or Variations.

I'd say Graphics Pack is the most vanilla+ overhaul, plus it covers a huge portion of the game, so you can download it and all it's add-ons, throw in armor/weapon overhaul, Variations Clothes, a weather and interior lighting mod and you're good to go.
