Cleaning firearms
Is general consensus to clean every use or to clean after “x” amount of rounds?

Seems everyone has their own cleaning schedule. Some every range trip while others wait for malfunctions to occur. Do what you’re comfortable with. I prefer every range trip but I’d say at least every thousand rounds. I also would at the least wipe all the external metal with oil after every use to prevent rust from your hands/oils.
Clean when it's dirty.
Cleaning after every use is unnecessary for most guns and there's no set round count that will apply to all guns either.
Doesn’t it technically get dirty after every shot though?
Not to the point where it requires cleaning.
Do you wash your car every time you drive it?
Show car, yes. Dd, hellllll naw lmfao
Let that bird shit get crusty and flake off
Depends on whether the birds shit on the roof or not.
Wipe down the exterior with an oily rag after every use to prevent corrosion.
Clean the internals when it's dirty enough to need cleaned and this entirely depends on the gun and the type of ammo run through it. .22lr requires more frequent cleaning because the ammo is dirty. Gas operated guns require more cleaning because they basically shit where they eat. A gun you depend on for your life requires more cleaning so you can trust it.
Even then, I'll often clean the action and leave the barrel alone.
Bore. Snake.
Boresnake.
depends on weather and humidity.
clean them every 23 rounds. No more, no less.
23 round magazines are the future
There is no set number. Depends on the gun. I have pushed glocks past 5K rounds before cleaning. I clean my ARs after about 500 rounds. I clean stainless guns more frequently because they show dirt more. You just have to develop your own cleaning schedule with exlerience.
I generally clean after every use. Just came across a thread that had a cpl comments about cleaning and figured I’d ask directly what others cleaning regiment entailed.
I shoot a lot. It would take a ton of time to clean after every time.
I steam clean my living room carpet every time someone walks across it. Can never be too clean!
My everyday carry gets cleaned after every range day . My others kinda whenever I feel like it/ bored

standard ways of cleaning
after x rounds or x time
after every outing
as needed for accuracy and functionality
also for weather
Clean sometimes
I only clean my guns on solstices or equinoxes
I shoot and when I get home, run a bore snake an few patches, lube what needs to be lubed. Then after the third shoot, field strip an clean really good. The ones that are shot once a year or when certain people come to visit (once every two years or so), get field stripped an cleaned once a year(unless used), but wiped down every 6 months with oily rag (not to much, just enough to keep the rust away). ARs are lubed an cleaned the most for sure, along with a few pistols that need to be oiled up to run properly.
I usually clean them when they start acting funky.
