Radiant Dance Machines: Tumbleweeds are about as useful

Discussion

Just got 'em. After dodging while near enemies, for six seconds you can dodge as many times as you're able to (which is just one dodge per second) Spoiler Alert: You can get your super in like 30 seconds with just 2 dynamos, 1 distribution, and 1 Utility Kickstart (stasis class mod) but you have to be near an enemy for ALL of the dodges. That's not even the fastest, because I didn't make full use of things like Focusing Strike or Bolstering Detonation, I didn't have on Whisper of Refraction, and I didn't use Arcstrider's dodge-punch tree. Could probably get your super in 15 seconds with just one enemy from nothing if you really put your mind to it.

However, I personally think that they don't provide any utility beyond that what-so-ever. I can't see it being useful in good situations in PvP beyond cheesing Dynamo by finding enemies close to walls where they can't shoot you, but you're just barely close enough to activate threat detector. You're really not that much harder to hit when rolling in either animation unless you're using Bakris, so spamming dodge while they can see you is just committing to death.

In PvE, where I'll be spending most of my time, you have to spam all of your dodges to get the most benefit out of the Dynamo cheese. Dodging only two or three times quite literally makes it just Sixth Coyote but actually a little worse, because you only have the one charge of dodge so you're waiting that full 4-6 seconds as opposed to consistently having a dodge every two seconds because of Coyote's second charge always charging.

It doesn't really have any synergy with anything else other than Dynamo that Sixth Coyote doesn't handle better. The situation I could see where getting your super back that fast as a swap exotic is like... Raids, since you can't swap in Master of Grandmaster Nightfalls and running this as the exotic over something like Star Eater, Omniculus, Graviton, Orphius, or Aeon would just be horrible. A three man can make enough orbs to constantly feed off of each other's supers, it's just not useful to turn yourself into a Tumbleweed.

Anyone else got them, have opposing thoughts? Or, even if you don't, can you think of something interesting that this can do that Sixth Coyote can't?

Shooting off 5 rockets very quickly is definitely possible in boss encounters

I've only gotten off four on the best, shooting and dodging immediately, repressing shoot while still in the dodge animation to shoot as soon as it's ready. These were legendary rocket launchers, however. Not Deathbringer, which would probably be far easier to aim since you just have to look up. The animation after the dodge of lifting the rocket up is eating the time for the other two dodges.

But regardless of that, there's few bosses that even take that many rockets before either dying or going into their invulnerability phases. Even further, the moment you take it into scenarios where there are other teammates using explosives, or Well of Radiance you'd end up getting yourself or other people killed assuming you'd be able to get the multi-dodge to proc in the first place.

I personally think it could use a change, and while the super cheese is nice and strong I'm not going to be surprised when dynamo gets a five second cooldown and then this gets pushed into the same pile that Mechaneer's Tricksleeves and Sealed Ahamkara Grasps are in. Forgotten, "meh, that's nice" exotics.

Dude they're broken as fuck. So many rockets, with dodge to reload and 5 extra dodges.

I don't agree with your post at all. In fact, 6th Coyote is the exotic that I think is useless.

Do you even own them? They are way better than the exotics OP mentioned.
